By default, BrainStorm uses SendGrid to send all platform notifications. This ensures high-volume delivery with strong security through built-in SPF, DMARC, and DKIM policies. For most organizations, we strongly recommend using the default SendGrid setup.

However, some organizations require sending emails through their own SMTP servers due to internal security or compliance policies. The Custom SMTP feature gives admins the ability to connect BrainStorm directly to their mail server.
