Users may be imported using a CSV file that follows our recommended template.

IMPORTANT: Verify that you are Managing on behalf of your customer. 

IMPORTANTOnly Comma Separated Value (.CSV) files are supported. CSV UTF-8 files are not supported. Make sure that your CSV file is saved as a standard .CSV, not CSV UTF-8.
Correct File Type: CSV (Comma delimited)(*.csv)

Incorrect File Type: CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited)(*.csv)

1. From the left sidebar, select People > Users

2. Click the Add Users button dropdown in the right corner

3. Select Import CSV

4. Browse for your CSV file

NOTE: If needed you may download the template on this screen.

NOTE: You may also drag and drop a CSV file onto the screen. 

5. Once your file is uploaded, click the Next

6. Map Fields:

  • Use the dropdowns in the CSV Column to map CSV headers to the appropriate Field Name available in the BrainStorm platform.
  • The following fields are required:
  • First Name

  • Last Name
  • Email address
  • You may include the following optional fields:
  • ID

  • Department

  • Job Title

  • Country

  • You may click the Skip Column checkbox next to any of the optional fields to exclude them from the import. 

7. Click Next

8. Mapping Confirmation: 

  • Verify users that will be imported
    Click Next.

NOTE: If you see 0 users on the Confirmation Mapping screen, it means that there's an issue with the CSV file. Make sure that the CSV is saved as a standard Comma Separated Value (.CSV) file instead of CSV UTF-8 or another format. If you are saving the CSV in Microsoft Excel, choose the CSV (Comma delimited) option instead of CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited).

9.  Notify

  • Toggle OFF to turn off “Welcome to BrainStorm” message.
  • Keep toggle ON to send “Welcome to BrainStorm” message.

10. Click Finish
